The time has finally come. After four years, I am finally going to get my Masters Degree from Walden University. For anyone who is interested in this program, I highly recommend it. I loved the convenience of completing the work at my own pace, from home. The interaction with my classmates was just as good as if we were face to face. Particularly, since one of my classmates had a web cam and we would chat via Skype’s Instant messaging service. It was unbelievable that while he was in Montana, I could hear and see him from my computer here in Philadelphia. I also keep in touch with a classmate who is in Los Angeles, CA. You don’t usually meet to many people from the otherside of the country when taking courses in a traditional college setting.
Now, I am plugging away at finishing my Portfolio for my Master’s in Education with a focus on Integrating technology in the classroom. I have learned so much and I am trying to stay positive that once I finally finish the portfolio, I will have earned my Masters. Whew! What an accomplishment for a single mom of two boys. I am looking forward to going back to work in Sept. and applying the new theories and concepts learned throughout this degree program. I am particularly excited about becoming iSafe certified and encouraging my students to spread the word in their community about the rules of cyber safety and digital citizenship. While it has been a lot of work, and I would have liked to be able to spend more time hanging out with my two boys, the experience has been a wonderful one. It has left me feeling refreshed and ready to go back to teach in the Fall. (Oh no thats only two weeks from now
